RE.CORDER is a hybrid acoustic & electronic soprano recorder with:
- built-in wireless connectivity and sensor platform detects the notes played
- pressure-sensors measures the strength of the breath
- additional inertial sensor (3D accelerometer) detects the position of the instrument in the space for adding musical expressiveness to one’s playing
RE.CORDER can be used as:
- full functional traditional acoustic soprano recorder (acoustic sound can be muted) to engage digital instrument
- classic-style recorder with digital output (digital wind instrument)
- a MIDI controller for use with your computer, your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and your favourite sound libraries
- customized fingering and modes to allow for physical challenges (simplified fingering, lip sensor instead of pressure, and more!)

THE APP'S SOUND LIBRARY
The digital sounds of the re.corder come from the sound library (SoundBank) contained in its App (download it here).
We have chosen to include the sounds in the App to ensure that re.corder users have a constantly evolving instrument.
In fact, the number of sounds and features included in the App will increase over time, so that your re.corder will never cease to amaze you!
The SoundBank currently includes 32 sounds, not only wind instruments as you would expect but also strings, pianos, organs, synths and even drumkits!

THE 3 MODES FOR PLAYING RE.CORDER
BREATH
Is the modality for playing any wind instrument. The sound is emitted by blowing into the mouthpiece of the instrument.
LIP SENSOR
In this modality, the sound is emitted by resting the lips on the mouthpiece of the instrument, without having to blow.
This mode is particularly suitable for people with breathing difficulties.
KEYBOARD
This modality allows you to play re.corder by simply touching the holes in the instrument, as if it were a keyboard.
Particularly suitable when choosing percussive sounds from the library or even for people with disabilities.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The recorder app is compatible with devices which have at least
the following OSes installed:
- Android (smartphones, tablets): OREO (8.0) on Arm platform. It is also possible to connect to re.corder with older versions but the audio optimisations will be implemented starting from this version of the operating system.
- iOS (iPhone and iPad): iOS 10.0 and iOS devices with BLE support (starting from iPhone 6S and up and iPad 4th generations and iPad minis)
