re.corder is an acoustic/digital soprano recorder with:

  • Internal BLE wireless connectivity and advanced sensor platform
  • touch sensors that detect the position of the fingers and a sensor for the intensity of the breath
  • inertial sensors (3D accelerometer) for greater expressiveness of the musician

re.corder can be used as:

  • a traditional acoustic soprano recorder
  • an electronic recorder with a digital sound library in a dedicated app for smartphones and tablets
  • A MIDI controller to use with your computer, your DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), and your favorite sound libraries.
  • an instrument with fully customizable fingerings and specific playback modes for personalized use (e.g., a sensor that detects the presence of the lips instead of pressure)

The digital sounds of the re.corder come from the sound library (SoundBank) contained in its App (download it here).

We chose to include the sounds in the App to ensure that re.corder users have a constantly evolving tool.
The number of sounds and features included in the app is set to increase over time, so your re.corder will never cease to amaze you!

The SoundBank currently includes 32 sounds, not only wind instruments but also strings, percussive sounds, synths, and even percussion!

Breath

The mode specific to any wind instrument.

Sound is produced by blowing into the mouthpiece of the instrument.

Lip Sensor

By placing your lips on the mouthpiece of the instrument, sound is produced without having to blow.
This method is particularly suitable for people with breathing difficulties.

Keyboard

To play simply by touching the holes on the instrument, as if it were a keyboard.

Particularly suitable when choosing percussive sounds from the library or even for people with disabilities.

Magic wand

In Magic Wand Mode, sound is produced by moving the instrument through the air.
Change volume by rotating and pitch by inclining the re.corder.

Minimum system requirements

The re.corder app is compatible with devices that have at least the following operating systems installed:

  • Android (smartphones, tablets): OREO (8.0) on Arm platform. You can also connect to re.corder with earlier versions, but audio optimizations are implemented starting with this version of the operating system.
  • iOS (iPhone and iPad): iOS 10.0 and iOS devices with BLE support (starting with iPhone 6S and later, fourth-generation iPad, and iPad mini).
