A series of touch-sensitive digital sensors detects the player’s finger positions, while a pressure sensor detects the breath strength used to generate the sound, opening the instrument to the infinite possibilities provided by its innovative digital platform.
re.corder is an instrument with a compact, modern, and elegant design. It is lightweight, ergonomic, available in many vibrant colors, and complete with all the functions of its traditional wind instrument counterpart. But it is when its internal electronics are activated that it truly expresses its full revolutionary potential.
You can connect re.corder to an external device such as a smartphone, tablet, or a Windows or Mac computer, achieving real-time communication of its full musical data, status, notes played, pressure strength, and accelerometer data.
You can also connect it to any app compatible with the MIDI protocol: from educational apps to more complex music creation and production tools such as DAWs (digital audio workstations), sound libraries, loopers, and other MIDI instruments.
The re.corder app allows you to play the 32 timbres available in its sound bank: from trumpet to clarinet; from cello to organ, as well as percussion instruments and synthesizers.
You can use different fingerings and create custom ones, transpose octaves, apply effects, and much more.
Furthermore, being a true MIDI controller, re.corder is capable of reproducing the timbre of any instrument from third-party sound libraries and can be used with a DAW.
re.corder is as small as a normal recorder, weighs only 120g, doesn’t need long cables, and you can play it with headphones (simply by connecting your headphones to the device where the app is installed).
